She Commands the Air

Catriona sits on her flying, winged chair; she has wings on her shoulders, ankles and from her crown of leaves. Her chair has details of flying fish and she carries her bird companion. There are 18 handmade 'needles' which hang from the bottom of the chair with knotted linen thread. She is designed to be hung on the wall but she can also sit on a shelf.
She is made from porcelain, underglazes, underglaze pencil, oxides and glazes, the beads and 'needles' are porcelain painted with underglazes. This piece measures approximately 32cm x 10cm x 7cm.
